ACCOMMODATIONS

Wrightsville Beach is an extremely popular destination, and our wedding falls right at the beginning of its busiest season so lodging is a bit tricky.

We strongly encourage you to book your accommodations as soon as you are able!

The Blockade Runner is a very nice hotel that is centrally located and has historical, local character. However, we have been told there might be some construction during the weekdays around the time of our wedding. Because of this, we are inviting you to choose the accommodations that suit you best. The Blockade Runner and the Lumina Holiday Inn Resort are both very nice hotels, on the beach with beautiful views, and the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites are also good options, just across the bridge in Wilmington. There are also many vacation home rentals available, ranging from luxury to more rustic.

Please let us know where you are planning to stay so we can work on coordinating transportation

We are planning to stay at the Blockade Runner.

Should you choose to arrive early or stay late, we will be there from Wednesday, May 15th - Monday, May 20th.

THE BLOCKADE RUNNER BEACH RESORT

The Blockade Runner is a historic hotel in the heart of Wrightsville Beach. It has beautiful ocean and sound (sunset) views and offers a wide variety of activities.
In our experience, the food here is also very good (and we highly recommend the margaritas!) The hotel is also centrally located and within walking distance from most restaurants and bars in the area.

The block we are working on will only be for standard rooms on either the oceanfront or harborfront sides of the main building. There are upgraded rooms in the smaller, oceanfront building available as well, and these rooms are listed as “Deluxe” or “Premier” on the booking website.

We have a secured a block of 10 rooms. However, we were able to find rates through 3rd party services that were comprable to the quoted room block rate.

If you want to stay at the Blockade Runner, but are concerned about the possibility of construction hindering your stay, we also recommend booking backup rooms (which can be canceled later on) at the Lumina Holiday Inn, or one of the other hotels listed below.

Block rate: $365-$404/night

LUMINA HOLIDAY INN RESORT

The Lumina Holiday Inn Resort is a large, newly renovated, beachfront hotel, located at the north end of the beach. The rooms here are newer and more consistent than those in The Blockade Runner, however, this hotel is much larger and more corporate-feeling.
The location is on the north end of the beach, about 1.5 miles or a 5-minute drive/30-minute walk to other restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel does provide a shuttle service from 7 am - 11 pm.

We do not have a room block at this hotel, but we do have a group discount when you book through the button below.

Discounted rate: $365-$465/night

HILTON GARDEN INN WILMINGTON MAYFAIRE TOWN CENTER

The Hilton Garden Inn is not directly on the beach but is only about a 5-minute drive away.

We have a room block at this hotel but it is only for king rooms. The cut-off date for the room block is April 16th, 2024

If you would prefer to call to make a reservation, please call 800-STAY-HGI and mention Rate Code 91A to receive the special rate.

Block rate: $199/night (king rooms only)

HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON WILMINGTON/MAYFAIRE, NC

The Homewood Suites is next to the Hilton Garden Inn and we have a room block here for both king and double rooms.

If you would prefer to call the hotel to make your reservation, please call (910) 791.7272. The group code is “SAW” and the group name is “SAYRS ALDERCOTTE WEDDING”

You may also book your reservation online using the link below.

King room block rate: $199/night
Double room block rate: $209/night

VACATION RENTALS THROUGH VRBO, AIRBNB, OR INTRACOASTAL REALITY

If you are planning to come for longer than just the wedding weekend, or are planning to share accommodations with a larger group of people, you may want to consider renting a vacation home. There are many different types of homes available, and we recommend checking for your desired capacity and dates at all 3 of the above rental platforms. Some homes have a higher minimum night requirement, but there are options for 2-night rentals as well.

If you do decide to book a vacation rental, we encourage you to either look for options that are close to the hotels mentioned above or plan on arranging your own transportation to the weekend events. Ubers, Lyfts, and cabs are all available in the area but it is a small town so you will need to plan ahead.
